I’m going to name drop a bit. Your from this area. Manning or Knutson to start a herd. Both been in it for years and are very good at what they do.

As mentioned above, getting in sheep now would be the equivalent of buying $4k bred heifers in 2014.........

Yeah i dont plan on buying in right now but theres folks who think the bottoms going to drop out of the market and if a guy had a plan in place for when that happens he might be able to pick up some good ewes at a good price.

Dunno about ewes at a 'good price'.

Be far too easy to get problems.
I'd suggest 10 to maybe 20 ewe lambs from a good producer.
I'd be asking from girls that were from triplets or quads and where mom raised at least 3 lambs herself.
Then you'd have a great start.
First season doesn't drive you batty, well then, get another 20 ewe lambs and keep your own.
If you're going to accelerated lambing you can be at 100 ewe in no time flat.
At 250 ewes lambing in 3 bunches your numbers growth will be fantastic especially if you're getting twins to quads.
At that level you're also producing 1000 lambs a year. It would also be a fairly nice $$$ return - - - imo anyway!!!!
