Driftless SW Wisconsin | The problems here are the alfalfa is nowhere near bloom, the grasses are rapidly going to seed, the ground is finally wet and the forecast for the next week is not real drying weather. I’ve decided to wait until I see a few blooms on the alfalfa then go, try to get it down to 35% by tedding then wrap. We’ll see how this goes.
Cows and calves are leaving a lot of seed heads after grazing, pastures need to be mowed and dragged as they rotate out. First cutting grasses are a lost cause at this point.
