If you have bugs you better spray. You won't drive over enough hay to even worry about with 100-120' booms. I don’t even mess waiting for a high crop(plane or helicopter) rig anymore. Plus they set second cutting back too. Insects take far more crops and rangelands than people give them credit. We have grasshoppers banging on us and I'm sure the weevil are coming.
