Subject: Martin spaders hit insecticide diffuser

JD 7200 planter

Martin 15" spading wheel just nips the bottom of the rubber insecticide diffuser.

This is after shimming to get proper clearance away form the row. Some rows hit a couple others are very close.

The first 2 pics are how the original bander/bracket fastens up underneath the cast tail piece.

The last 2 show how the spader nips the diffuser.

Anyone else ever run into this and how did you solve it ?  I have to have the insecticide and diffuser.

I see Shoup has a replacement that looks to be plastic and a bit narrower but what do they mean by slope compensating ? Will narrowing up the insecticide band slightly be an issue ?

They don't give an overall length either. Anyone have a Shoup one for reference ?
