We were playing cards and one of the grandparents has 2 grandchildren who've suddenly been diagnosed with celiac disease. The one child age 2 had a broken leg a couple of months ago and now has another break, this caused the children to undergo a lot of testing. Neither of the children have been displaying the effects of celiac disease up to this point. That brought up the discussion about how many kids have allergies and their immune systems can't handle gluten. How many have autism or related conditions, things that 60 to 70 years ago we didn't encounter. I simply stated that today Children receive about 25 to 30 individual vaccine doses by age 2. Something that did happen when I was a kid. And something else that did happen when I was a kid was we played outside in the dirt. Didn't live in cocoons of super insulated homes, air conditioned cars weren't given tylenol or advil for every sniffle. It resulted in a lot of quiet and obvious disapproval. |
