McCanna, ND | Still investigating Tedders and trying to figure out large of one I need/can justify. With a 16’ haybine I’ve been laying a 8’ wide swath, so 24’ edge to edge. Guessing I can narrow it up to 22’ or so.
Is it better to take 2 full swaths (tractor between windrows, or take 1 1/2 swaths (tractor driving on a windrow and pulling a partial swath from each side)?
The 1 1/2 swath method probably makes better use of all the baskets and covers the ground better? I’m thinking a 6 basket is borderline too small for 2 swaths that spread 22-24’? | |
