Subject: Variable rate two years fert?

Prairie Home MO
We are considering variable rateing p and k 2.5 acre grids. Corn and soybean rotation. Two years doing k in front of beans and two years p in front of corn. Especially 1st year how do you begin the process. Yield goal for next two years? Then after first two years look back at actual yield and apply accordingly? Or apply solely on soil test? We can add our z and b when we topdress corn in spring with straight spread.
