Subject: Re: trucking costs. buy my own

La Glace Alberta Canada
We ran into this a few years ago. We just had a chev tandem and a chev single axle and they needed our malt bly contract now. Well we tried to get somegrain haulers but since we didn't use them much we were at the bottom of the list. We ended up borrowing my uncles rig to get it done. So then we looked for our own unit. We found some used super B trailers and then we found a 96 cabover frightliner. The previous owners of the truck were very meticulous. We bought it for $15,000.00 cdn trailers were $25,000.00 cdn. The truck a year into it we did the head gaskets (were leaking) bottom bearings and two pistons. The bill was $10,000.00 at the cummins dealer. I honestly can say it was the best move we did ta the time. They call and I can start right away. In the fall we split the trailers and put the pup behind an old pete that I picked up cheap ($5000.00) This purchase took a lot of pressure off of us.
