Subject: Re: 7010 vs. 8010

We're running an '08 7010 with a 3212 (20") cornhead and hope to go with a 35' draper.. For the extra 300 hrs I would go with the 7010, it will easily handle the heads your friend is wanting to run. Only issues with have had with the combine is the S clips in the feederhouse chain masterlinks breaking off. Have been told they were replaced with masterlinks with nuts on the 20 series. Other problem was broken lug bolts in the drive wheels, had to replace 5 or 6. There was a bulletin to retighten them at a high torque than the book says.

Son usually runs the combine but what time I have put in it I have really liked the machine. Big difference from our 2388 & lots of bells & whistles. Most functions are controlled thru the Pro 600 monitor. Auger swing & on/off toggles switches are a little close together compared to the23 but I got use to it after awhile.

As for the cornhead, that's a whole nother story :~(
