Subject: Re: pluribus units

Anyone interested in maximizing the performance of their Pluribus units in corn stalks in the Fall should consider specifying or upgrading to the new 15" swept tooth Trashwheel. This wheel is not not only larger so that it makes a larger wake of residue for the rest of the unit to follow in, but it also has an integrated hub design. The hub is forged directly into the wheel. This allows for a perfectly smooth front and back to the wheel. It will no longer require the often troublesome scraper on the back of the wheel and will substantially reduce wrapping issues in very heavy corn stalks. The swept tooth design will resist wrapping while at the same time allow you to clear a wider path without throwing the stalks as far. People suffering from excessive mud buildup on the back of the Trashwheels in the Spring would also likely benefit from this new wheel.

8-10 inches is typical. As Paul said- staying between the rows is really important. If you are switching to RTK and strip till at the same time you should be ready for a challenging first year if COC is your bag.
