| Yep, I have that guy for a neighbor. 1 Shorthorn, 6 Scottish Highlanders, 3 horses, and a bunch of goats on about 5 or 6 acres inside a fence more down than up. Most of his fence has been replaced with 1 strand of the temporary hot wire from Boomgaar's.. Wife thinks they are all cute and won't let him sell anything. As soon as the grass greens up he is out of grazing and starting to feed hay. He never quits feeding where most guys at least make it into late summer on grass.
It's his place to do with what he wants and I wouldn't begrudge him keeping a couple of head around for the novelty of it, but everyone else has to fit their herd to the available resources. He's actually a nice guy and will do backhoe work for beer and a sandwhich, but if I were him I would have some words with wifey. | |
