Macon, IL | I pulled a stupid one on accident this year that deseved an arse chewing at best. Hauling to new elevator-my drivers had been in a few times but I was in combine and had not been. I took a load in one morning before they got there. On scale a light goes on that says go to East or West pit-if no light I was told you have "choice". I got buzzed with no light and pulled up to pit. Dumped and when coming out of pit to reweigh I saw a line of 20 trucks I had just "cut off". Choice means go to the end of the line and when you get up front take the next open slot.
Fully expected to get my butt kicked right there.
Weighed-elevator manager informed me of the process-which I had by then figured out. :( And I got out of dodge. Returned with other truck later and feeling bad I found a couple guys whose truck I recognized. I apoligized and offered them $5 to pay for their lunch that day. They laughed and not a one took me up on it-but I sure felt like a heel. | |
