Monticello IL | Seems like I read that ethanol plants in iowa were wanting to pay 40 dollar a ton for cobs. so if corn is 56 pounds per bushel and ear corn is 70. would that mean that 14/70 (20%) would be cobs and the other 56/70 (80%) is corn. So maybe take the value of corn times 80% of the weight and the value of cobs times 20% of the gross weight. Figuring the value of corn will be easy, but coming up with a value for the cobs will be harder. Feeding the cobs it will be easy to come up with an agreement, but if the cobs are of no value to you that will make it alot harder. | |
