| I agree with you on the Mighty Mouse. I got a wireless one with this iMac after using a good Microsoft wireless mouse for a couple of years on the Dell. It took a bit of getting used to - and worked well for a while. In fact, I got to where I liked the BB scroll ball better than the wheels. But then the trouble started - with the ball getting gunked up. I'd fix mine by placing one of those alcohol computer screen wipes on my desk, turn the mouse upside down, and move it rapidly back & forth, front and back. It would then be fine for a few more weeks. Well, this past summer it quit altogether. Nothing I tried would fix the scrolling. I ended up busting it open and disassembling it. Cleaned it up real good and put it back together - nothing. In the trash it went. I then bought a Microsoft Bluetooth laser mouse which I am using now. It works fine, except for losing connection with the computer if I leave it sit for more than a few minutes. It takes moving it around and clicking the buttons before it re-establishes the connection. Kind of annoying.
I was in a Best Buy a few weeks ago and they had a couple of iMacs on display with the new Magic Mouse - the one with the multi-touch interface. Played around with one for a few minutes and was impressed. There is no scroll wheel or ball - you simply slide your finger forward/back along the top of it to scroll. Swipe two fingers left/right to go forward/back a page in the browser. Mrs. Santa is bringing me one of these this Christmas! ;)
People are thinking that eventually, Apple will incorporate pinch zooming and other gestures via the mouse in a future software update. This seems to be just the ticket - only one button in it, no other moving parts.....
