| I have an Apple MobileMe email account as my main email account. Setting the Droid up to sync with it was a snap - it asked for my email address and password - and it then started to sync. Emails to my MobileMe account are pushed to the Droid. Sometimes they arrive on my Droid before they show up on my desktop. Anything done on Droid (read, delete, etc) is synced with my iMac within a minute or two.
Files can be transferred to and from the Droid with the supplied USB cable. Pics and video taken with the phone can be transferred back to the computer with either the USB cable or emailed to yourself.
The browser works fine. It doesn't have multi-touch like the iPod does - no pinch zoom. Double-tapping will zoom in/out though. As far as your Zimmatic thing, I couldn't tell you. I do know that Google Chrome, Google's browser, is built on Webkit which is what Safari is built upon. I haven't heard, but would think the Android browser is a mobile version of Chrome. If so, you might be in luck.
