x number of kernals per acre will yield more if the test weight is heavier. But if you harvest 11200 pounds of corn from an acre, it produced 200 bushels per acre no matter if was 56 pound test or 60 pound test. So, it depends on how you look at it whether test weight matters or not. It matters when the kernals are developing on the ear. it doesn't matter once it's in the truck (within reason). that said, I prefer good test weight hybrids.
