Subject: Re: electrician - my pet peave.

I had an electrician replace the service panel in our house a number of years ago. I had a short piece of cord with 230 volt male & female twist lock plugs at the end of it hanging from the bottom that I used with a portable generator. Yes, I know that is stupid, but only if you are stupid while dealing with it. ;) Anyhow, he replaced my panel and as he was finishing up, I looked around to see where my plugs went - didn't see them. I asked him about it, and being sort of a brassy type of fella, told me he was protecting me from my own stupidity. I then informed him that I absolve him from any future guilt if'n I fry myself. He then went to his truck and retrieved my plugs. I know dang well that he had planned to keep them. I was not the least upset that he didn't wire my new panel up with my jerry-rigged generator hook-up - I know that he couldn't and wouldn't do it, but to try and make off with my property sorta irked me.
