Another way for the waiter to get stiffed is taking the wrong receipt. Especially aafter quaffing a few, some people may put down a tip on the receipt, but take the one they wrote the tip on, and leave the blank one. By law, they can't put anything in there (I'm sure some do) but most times they just get nothing.

It isn't a glorious way of life.
