Subject: RE: Do deer whistles work??? Yes, if you keep the deer hair out of them

West Union, Illinois

So the story is told, Marathon Oil had crude oil division based in this area.  Some suit in Findlay decided the vehicles all needed deer whistles, so a bunch were purchased and sent down to be installed.  Couple weeks later the "guilty party" called down here to the sticks to see how things were going.  He asked if the deer whistles were doing any good.   Having had multiple instances over the past couple weeks the guy on this end said "Yeah, they work pretty good if you can keep the deer hair out of them."

Oh, for a scientificanswer look at http://www.bioacoustics.uconn.edu/reports/ARLOManuscript326%20FINAL... In an interview (http://advance.uconn.edu/2002/021118/02111812.htm) the researcher said this:

""All in all, the air-fed whistles do not make sense to me acoustically,"
