I guess the verdict is in on the deer whistles!

McCartman, it sounds like a very serious cycle accident, amazing that you survived a collision like that. Hitting a deer and the pavement at 60 mph is not a high probability of success thing. I can understand your feelings on deer but wet leaves or oil dropped from a truck on a tight turn can have a similar effect, but maybe not usually at that speed.

I had a motorcycle accident many years ago when there was a helmet law in WI. I see my son Joe and some other employees riding their cycles to work without helmets and it gives me a knot in my stomach. Still have a lump on my foot to remind me. I decided there were better ways to die.

Hope everyone keeps a special eye out for deer this time of year when driving. May not always help but...
