| I'm a survivor of a deer vs cycle accident. Have a titanium rod in my right leg from it. Deer ran out of my own corn field and ran into the side of me. I was doing 60 mph, no helmet. Ended up skidding down the pavement on my belly - never did any tumbling, thank God for that! Had road rash on my right arm and hand, leg broken in 6 places below my knee. This happened less than 1/2 mile up the road from our farm.
I fixed the bike. I have no qualms about mowing those worthless ditch goats down with my 22-250 any chance I get. Screw the DNR. Worst part is, hunters around here are whining that they don't see any deer - but just late last Winter / early Spring, we counted 30 - 40 of them in our field on a few occasions. I also am not shy about telling the Great White Hunters that they have gotten lazy. They apparently expect the deer to walk right up to them at sunrise opening day and whine if they don't. Sorry, this may seem harsh, but I despise those creatures. Not only did that accident put me out of commission for a couple of months, we have also hit three of them with cars.
Below is the result of hitting one with my wife's Saturn. Over $4 grand damage here - came close to totaling it out. Deer hit the right, front, swung around and bashed the passenger window in, shattering it into the car. Had glass down my shirt, in my boots, and a small cut under my right eye. Thankfully, I was the only one in the car at the time. If you look close, you can see sh_t on the hood. The bike that was involved in the incident I describe above is behind the car. Please overlook the junk and crap that has collected in my garage! ;)
