They are but the engineers design them to run on flat ground thus never causing cavitation in the transmission pickup. We found they were cavatating when coming up a headland or digging water reservoirs by putting a set of gauges on one and running it in normal operations. The charge/lube pressure gauge would drop drastically when coming straight out or up an incline because the oil runs to the back of the case.
