Don't know about that being dear, a couple of years ago I saw another company charge $2000 Au (from memory) to repair one of their touchscreens that was only just out of warranty, that particular manufacturer (you'd be shocked if I told you who) does not anything outside the stated warranty period at all if your one day over, pull your wallet out!
At least Deere do run programs and are fair about stuff like that!
