Ethridge, TN | You do things you aren't always comfortable with doing when you farm where we do. There isn't a close dealer that could handle this type of repair. Would have pretty well had to load it on the detach, and hauled it up to 200 miles away to have it done. Most dealers I talked to, really didn't want to tear it down, as they go more with sticking a reman in it, but that's 30+K for just the tranny, plus the in and out labor. This might last several years, and it could die tomorrow, but after the rain Monday night, it will be several days before I can put it back to work. We just looked at the cost, the options, and decided it was worth the in house trial. Right now, if I throw a shop rate of $100 per hour on it, I've just got $5200 in it. Of course, told the boss the warranty was off the minute the key was turned ;-) | |
