Subject: Re: How to tow a combine??

Wallaceburg ont
we towed with a 10' blade . turn the blade backwards and back it up to the rear wheels so curve is against the tires. chain the blade to the axle and than left up the rear of the combine. Leave the head on for weight.Yes unhook the drive couplers
The other tow bar was 20' pipe hook to a bolt on touge on rear axle ( the touge was flat plate with one hole we slice pipe in half so plate would side into it and put hole in the pipe. weld to flat plates on other end for the tractor. weld a hook 1/3 of distance from tractor to the combine on the pipe. Hook a chain from this hook to each side of rear axle so pipe cannot swing and unhook cylinder hoses. Done two this way and also two the other both worked great. the blade idea need big tractor to left the weight.
