Just play around with the slider. File -> Preferences -> General (link on left side). You'll see a slider there. Try raising and lowering it, but I wouldn't recommend unlimited. I have no idea if this will help much, in fact I kind of doubt myself now, but it is something to try. Something else to try (albeit a bit risky) is temporarily disabling your anti-virus software and anything else in the system tray.

A couple other gemeral options would be to clean all the temp files using CCleaner, defrag the hard drive using Auslogics, Running an online virus scanner like trend micro's and running Malware Bytes would also allow you to make sure you don't have a virus or malware slowing your whole computer down.
