Subject: RE: Thinking Of Row Cleaners ?s

Southeast Virginia
If you are not pinning any trash in the coulter slit, I don't see a need. I have been no tilling corn behind 40- 60 bushel beans for over 20 years. My neighbors were all running rippers under the row and made fun of me but now they have gone to 8 and 12 row planers and dropped the rippers. Not laughing now when they found out they really didn't need rippers. But they are running row cleaners and all the fancy add-ons that seem to be the thing these days. I like simple and paid for when it comes to non-irrigated corn as rain dictates my yield more than a perfect stand.
