I have found you need to think outside of the box. If you plant a short fixed ear corn and mix in a tall flex ear corn so you get a tall plant ever 2 or 3 feet those tall plants will have a huge ear just like if they were planted by themself and it want effect the short plant. Will really boost your yield. The hard part is getting the tall plants mixed in. I discovered this when I switched from a silage corn to a picking corn without cleaning out the planter. Crop adjuster came up all excited and wanted to know what was going on
