Floyd County, Iowa | My optometrist has dug steel out of my eyes many times.
The last time was on a Saturday at around 7pm. I went to the ER, and the doctor tried to get it, but couldn't. They called my optometrist and he came down immediately (he and his family had just gotten home from a day of biking). We went to his clinic and he took care of it.
He then gave me his card and wrote his personal cell number on it. Told me to call HIM if it happened again. He said the ER was good at stitches, broken bones and most other situations, but objects-in-the-eyes was not their forte.
He has also me convinced to wear a face shield whenever I'm grinding, and safety glasses most other times in the shop. Wish I'd listened to him years ago! | |
