We buried a 10 ton fertilizer tender box in 2003.
Put two i beams all the way through it where the truck drives and left beams sticking out the end 4 feet, ran a tile underneath the boot ,back filled 3/4 way to the top with pea rock then gravel the rest of the
way and cemented all around it.
No issues ever in southern Minnesota.
With all the threads lately about how to put a pit in you guy's are WAY over thinking the whole process.
If anyone wants pics or more information ask away.
I also have 2- 500 bushel pits for sale that we bought for a project but never used for $2000.
