Subject: RE: Has Anyone Ever Buried An Old Grain Cart For A Drive Over Grain Receiving Pit?

Southern Missouri
If my engineer (me) has it all correct the sides of the basement and the sides of the cart won’t be holding up anything but themselves, the I beams running across the top and anchored into heavily reinforced concrete on each end will carry all the weight.
I priced a concrete basement that size and had the same reaction I did to the price of the factory pit, wowzer,my son and one hand welded the basement floor and all four walls together in two easy days, painted whole basement with agriguard paint I’ll attempt some pics of it shortly
Pic is sideways sorry, the stuff up on top of it is for picking it up and moving it around with my excavator, that’ll all come off when it’s in the ground
Basement is 14x18 cart will set about 6 inches from walls of basement except on one side that’ll have 2 ft between cart side and basement wall that’s where we’ll have ladder going down to maintain cart and sump pump etc,on bottom of cart is 7x7 tubing that’ll sit on basement floor
