Subject: RE: How many live on Gravel roads.

Galahad, Alberta
My little local town has a paved road that goes out to the east and 4 miles of crappy oiled road that goes out to the north. I live on a good gravel road that parallels the oiled road. The oiled road is so bad that most of the townsfolk have started using my road to avoid driving the oiled mess. I'm ready to write a letter to the county to ask them for free dust control in front of my farm. Our county has been hit hard with oil companies going bankrupt and walking on the taxes for hundreds and hundreds of oil wells. There used to be about 350 miles of oiled road, and a bit of paved. We're now down to about 25 miles of oiled and they are ripping up the pavement because they can't afford to repave it.

edit: We still have the provincial paved roads.
