I always sowed it in late spring using a 3 pt spreader and worked it in with a cultimulcher with the teeth pretty well out of the ground or a Furest harrow. As fast as it grows I would be afraid of sowing in in wheat on the last snow like you would other clovers, would think by the time your wheat was ready to harvest it would be pretty good size and cause problems.
