Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | We run spec rotors with half a set of Gorden bars in the front half of the rotor and Stewart steel auger fronts in a pair of 30 year old 1480's.
Concaves are 12 year old , somewhat worn Harvest brand LW with three Harvest cover plates on the front half.
we planted half of our wheat acres to Glen wheat last season and liked it so well that 100% of our wheat is Glen this year. Good sample, no white caps
The stuff has great disease resistance and stands well, yields great. A properly set up rotor combine will thresh it no problem.
Edit: Make sure you guys are not confusing FILLER plates with COVER plates.
A filler plate fits above the concave wires and leaves less concave bar available to hold the crop in position so the Rotor / cylinder bars can thresh it out.
A cover plate fits below the concave wires and allows all the bar above the wires to hold the crop in position longer for a good thresh.
It also helps that my Harvest brand concaves have more bar above the wires than most if not all OEM concaves. They also have more threshing area because they are line bored.
