Perry County, 35 miles NW of Harrisburg, PA | Hey Luke,
Just looked at my spray records, it was June 12, exactly 3 weeks ago tonight. The corn being hammered by slugs WAS only 6 - 8 inches. Applications over more that one night would probably get close to a 100 % kill. Maybe I just chose the right night to do it, but I was more than happy with the results. I did get some leaf burn with the 4 gals. of nitrogen. I'm almost a little leary to try it over 2 or 3 nights for fear of really burning the corn. The good corn in those fields was easily 15 inches +. Shows you how much damage slugs can do. As of today, everything is shoulder tall or taller. I was also sidedressing 25 gallons of nitrogen at the time. Boy did I pick the right year to sidedress. The corn doubled within a week.
Ha, you a funny guy!! This year, at least for me, EVERYTHING was wet. The hills just weren't as wet as the lower spots.
