Chebanse, IL.....

After generations of full tillage, we went no-till in the late '70s on corn & beans.

We stayed with it for 13 yrs. Some will suggest we didn't give it enough time.

We went back to conventional tillage 100%. We chisel plow (that's what we call it in IL...going 10-14" deep) corn stalks. We in-line rip bean stubble. We field cultivate both of those just in front of the planter. We have 0.0% HEL to farm. I understand that HEL calls for different measures. Those that farm HEL probably do & should use different methods.

I suggest one can do whatever they want on their own farms & not have to justify it to anyone not involved, assuming it's legal.
