nw NC | Not in the Midwest, nor is it a snowdrift. It is USGS stream flow Gage on Little Yadkin River which borders our property here in Northwestern North Carolina. There was about 1.5 inches of rain that fell in a few hours Friday and runoff caused a quick rise in water level in the river. It jumped about 6 feet very quickly. Highest it has ever been is something over 20 feet, so not a record. Since Jan. 1, rainfall here is nearly double average amount for year to date. Wet, wet and wetter.
I heard the first spring peepers down on the pond Friday night. Temperature was only 38° F at the time.
