Subject: RE: NCG yield contest and Francis Childs

East Central Nebraska
Inserting a rod in the ground reminds me of a no-till conference our neighbors had about 20 years ago. They had been no-tilling for about 10 years and I was going to switch to it. At the conference they had a long rod about my height and it slid into the ground all the way with very little force. I thought at the time, I could do the same on my farm a mile down the road as it was wet out. I went home and tried in several spots and it went down about 6-8" and would of needed a hammer to go further.
