Subject: Cow/calf or Stockers

Mid TN
Currently run 130 to 140 cow/calf operation. Free choice Dry hay and 30 lb of silage per hd per day during winter months (Dec 1st to April 15th on average). Silage usually plays out and I start tapering cattle off silage around last of March. Problem is a lot of old cows that need to be sold. Cow/calf operation if you are true with figures get $$$. Quality heifers are hard to find that havent been pampered to death and stands at feed bunk during summer months like democrats looking for hand out. Have had stockers in past along with my cow/calf. Just wondering what others thought about stockers vs cow/calf. Think stockers probably more risk involed, different management, but potentially bigger returns.
