Subject: RE: Sonic booms

Sonic booms come from aircraft flying faster than the speed of sound.. When the Concord first started flying to the USA it caused sonic booms and it was then required to slow down below the speed of sound when approaching the USA shore and flying over the USA. Today the only aircraft that fly faster than the speed of sound are military fighters and they probably don't fly all over the country like they did decades ago.
