When I bale little bales, we usually pasture in the spring until April. then bale grass hay around end of June or first week of July. Leave the bales lay and let the regrowth come on. I will have about a hundred acres of corn stalks to graze, then turn into the grass and bales mid December, or maybe first of January. The cows will eat the grass first, then the bales. Unless the snow is deep. Then they eat the bales first and when the snow melts, clean up the grass. This is a pasture that does not lend itself to summer grazing for several reasons.
