Subject: RE: and stops some carjackers

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Just yesterday, I was giving my niece a refresher course, on driving a manual transmission, on the farm. (1979 Chevy 4x4 with 4 speed, with 4.10 rearend)

She got out of college(nursing school) and had a friend with a manual tranny and she wanted a review, for driving those things. (I've had given her a lesson, a few years back, also) She did fairly well.

I asked her younger brother (my nephew), if he wanted to learn = "Nope", he said: "I believe in new technology".

I asked my niece, if she has ever put her car's automatic transmission in "L" or "2" before = Nope, she never had. (reason: I was trying to help explain gear ratios, and mechanical advantage, to her, for manual transmissions, but this reference didn't help much either)

She does like the term, "Granny Low" for 1st gear.
