NW Iowa | Vinegar is a mild acid that will clean up very light rust if given time but I doubt if it will help with a stuck engine. The Hagens brew seems to work the best for seeping into the rust. Sometime if I ever am faced with an impossibly stuck engine with cast iron pistons and there is no salvation I am going to try pouring a 50/50 mix of muriatic acid/water in the plug holes and see what happens after a few days. I have never heard anyone mention using muriatic. I've used it in a few applications and it's nasty stuff. | |
