| Paul iscorrect, depends upon state & local regulationd. Before our road was paved we were allowed to put down oil in front of our house. Had to be an oil that passed specific regulations. Neigh oring county in Illinois did have a program where residents could have the road in front of their home oiled by the county, not sure if county, home owner paid or if it was joint. For awhile our local soybean board sold soyoil to be applied on gravel for dust control
We put approved oil in front of our house for several years, never once saw the grass turn yellow. Road in front of the house eventually became like black top. So much so I used black top patching to fix any potholes | |
