IMO you aren’t hurting a thing. They have a safe range for a reason and your within. Biggest thing is making bales oversized imo. Where your setting at 68” not 72” is about perfect imo. Next thing is always keeping stored inside. I feel that is key to keeping repairs to a minimum
Also I like to relieve pressure on belts when not in use.
