One thing I figured out, not by experience, was to never roll the hook inside. If you are throwing the strap over a load and someone happens to be on the other side and meets that hook flying through the air.......... Besides, hook it, throw it, the strap ends up on the load where you want it.
How else do you properly throw a strap? :)
I would rather yell "Get out of the way, throwing a strap" than to deal with the wind grabbing a low velocity strap and have to climb onto the load to lay the strap. Plus I dont let anyone help me secure, I am responsible for the load, so I am darn sure responsible for the securement and safety of it, so I gotta do it all myself. |
