Mom said they were talking about some experimental drugs that could have helped her sister who had stomach cancer, but they just weren't quite available. Was supposed to be a miricale cure when it came out. My moms sister had a young kid, it was hard to see his mom pass on so young.
That was the mid to late 1940s.
