Illinois | 2011 Chevy Silverado began not wanting to shift out of park. I researched it a bit on Google and the shift interlock consists of; the brake pedal switch, a shift lock solenoid , and a cable to the transmission as possible problems. I don't think its the brake pedal switch because the shift lever will stay locked in park when you give a steady pull to shift it, but it you push the shift lever the opposite direction, then try to shift the lever it releases. So would it be a weak solenoid, or would the shift cable be the cause ? TIA | |
