cropsey, il 61731 | Unfortunately, the cracks in the cylinder go all the way to the bottom and I'm still not sure how it failed. It was running, but was down on power. They had the pump rebuilt and still down on power. Later it just quit running while they were loading fertilizer. The shop says it had coolant in it so it's a little unlikely it was freeze damage. The con rod is broken off about half way down and I do not have the old piston. Right now the what's left of the rod does not spin freely on the crank. I'd still like to understand what went wrong - bearing failure (lack of oil) stuck rod and caused everything else or?
Anyway, I'm looking at another block for $650 and a long drive to arkansas. My block number is D8NN-6015DA and the block elderidge has for sale is a D8NN-6015BB. Does the BB mean anything that I would be concerned about?
Thanks,
Pat | |
