Columbus, TX | First I just want to say that I'm just starting out on building my cattle operation and am learning a lot as I go. I've got a mix of 20 red and black angus heifers that will be ready to breed fairly soon. At first I was thinking of just keeping it angus, but have really been considering going with a Brahman Bull and having the F1 instead. Brangus cattle are very popular in my area as well and so it just kind of makes sense. My worry is about calving, would it be better to put an angus bull for that first calf vs a Brahman bull? I don't live real close to the cattle, so ease of calving is just that much more important to me. Not real sure which way to go here. Any input is GREATLY appreciated. Thank y'all | |
